Garauge insulation
I have looked at a lot of threads here about no insulation on rv 5th TH. I want to insulate mine. But want to be mold free. Lowes, home depot has 1 1/2 4x8 hard styrofoam sheets. I was thinking useing contact cement and installing these on the bottom of the garage floor. Any comments welcome.

Use the "Non-burning glue" made for foam insulation. It will be with the caulk, etc., in the paint dept. I used that to hold the R-5 foam board, double layered, on the storage compartments ceilings. Cut the foam to fit, let the glue setup overnight.

We used this foil backed insulation in the outside storage compartment in the dinette slide of our 5er. Big improvement. Before the cold air migrating into the dinette area was very uncomfortable!
Don't know how much cutting you will have to do, but, we discovered that we were able to make very clean and accurate cuts by using the old table saw - FWIW

What I have read, I need small air gap between the garauge floor and the foam insluation. This will make it insulate correctly. So thinking about small blocks of 3/8 plywood silicone to the foam before I install them. And just glue the blocks to the floor. Any suggestions about that?

Randy,
We didn't bother with an air space between the Luan wall of the dinette and the insulation primarily because we didn't want to, in effect, make the storage space smaller. I just fitted the insulation between the framework (studs) of the dinette seat.
I don't see why your idea on how to hang the insulation wouldn't work. Good luck with the mod - if you can, post some pics.
The insulation will certainly make a big difference in your comfort
