Accuslide cable adjustment

How do you adjust the cables on an Accuslide system? The slide chatters, and sometimes shakes violently when moving in and out. Help!

Here is a thread that I started about a year ago when I had trouble with my brand new Toy Hauler slide(s).

It's a good read and in post number 7 is a link that will help you understand and adjust properly, the slide that is giving you trouble.

If you Google accuslide cable adjustment you will come up with the downloadable manual. It includes a troubleshooting guide

It may be that you need to condition your slide seals and bottom seal plate. Check out this thread. Mine chattered, shook, and jerked horribly after applying 303 to them. Not anymore.

You need to sit down with the BAL manual and absorb what they say first. Then after that, find a step stool and IB in hand visually understand the cable layout. Adjust the cables according to what is in the manual. When you feel that you are at the right point, wander outside and give those cables a tug - they may be 'right on' or you may need to give them a tweak. That manual is a decent general guide and not cast in stone. You will need a 3/8" and a 7/16" wrench - Home Depot have a gear wrench design for a couple bucks or so each that work well. Oh and that cable adjustment - if you run out of threads on the individual cables, you will need to loosen them way out and move a chain link or two on its sprocket. The first one will take at least an hour, any others, much less time since you will then be a trained 'expert'
