A/C Vent

I have a 2017 Hideout 26RLSWE . There is not a A/C vent in the bathroom. All the A/C vents are in a straight row in the ceiling. Has any one ever cut a hole in the ceiling and added a vent. It gets hot with the door closed. There is not a heater vent in the floor either. They sure saved money on theses rigs. Funny how you do not notice little things like that when ou are looking to buy ( at least I did Not ). But then there were other things I missed to, and I have owned RVs for the last 20 years.

There's a reason that a comparably sized Hideout is $7500 less than a similar floorplan in the Cougar line and there's a reason the Cougar is $10-15 thousand less than a Montana with a similar floorplan. You'd think the "basic components" like heat/cooling wouldn't be affected, but that's not the way the designers/engineers look at things.

You should be able to cut a hole in the ceiling and install an A/C vent without too much difficulty. Just be sure you're in the area where the ducting run is located. Installing a floor duct (or a round duct in the vanity) for heat isn't that much more difficult. Just pull down the DARCO wrap under the floor, install a "Tee" in the aluminum ducting located near the bathroom and route the new ducting into the area. You'll lose some "air velocity" to the vents further down the line, but the total BTU's delivered into the cabin should remain essentially the same.

My brand new Cougar does not have a duct in the bathroom either. However, when I am spending much time in there with the door closed, I have the rood vent open and the fan running. That brings all the conditioned air into the bathroom though the large gap beneath the door. When not in use, I direct air in through the slightly open door to keep the area cool.

I was thinking like you initially. Perhaps the designers do not want any air from the bathroom being pushed out into the living space. That could introduce some nastiness.

After a few weekends of testing the rig out in really hot weather, I am good. I would prefer a vent, but the fart fan method of cooling works.

My trailer has AC and heat vents in the bathroom. Neither are controlled vents, yet. I think it's a wash. In winter, it's nice to have the heat when I'm taking a shower....but it can get too warm and I open a door. In the summer it can freeze you....so I open a door. My solution will be to install adjustable registers.....if I can ever remember to do it

I've had trailers that didn't have those outlets and got along fine. Seems like it's just a matter of adjusting to what you have.....

I also have a 2010 Fuzion 383 Touring Edition 11 Toy Hauler. The reason I bought a smaller Travel Trailer is that I did not like pulling that big of a rig around . 40 foot three axles, just to big after I sold my motorcycle. Any way Iknow what you mean about the vents giving to much heat or A/C I put adjustable vents in the bathroom on the Fuzion and it worked great. I guess I was just expecting to much for the price on the Hideout. It is a great trailer 30 feet long and real cozy, pulls great, of course I have a F450 Ford with a diesel. We fulltime and the Hideout does what we want. I installed solar so we can boon dock .

My 2017 Hideout, 22kbswe, does have vent in the bathroom for both A.C. and heat. Sometimes I wish they were adjustable because of the overheat/overchill situations but not a big issue. Like you there is so much info in the PDI that I was on overload. 1st time TT buyer, had used (very used) Class C's so was used to things not working. lol Very happy with the floorplan and the venting systems.
