Fresh water tank is draining slow (dripping)

Hi all, we have a 2001 Springdale 295 BH Clearwater Edition we can 't get the fresh water tank to drain. My husband has open the only vavle he can find underneath the rear of the travel trailer. He has also tried turning on /opening the cold water facet both at the kitchen sink and bathroom sink. He has also unscrewed the fresh water fill cap. Everything we have tried has the results of water slowly dripping out. We completely filled the tank yesterday and only used it a few times and the tank Monitor reads 2/3 full. Suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your opening the fresh tank drain? Is it by itself or are there 2 drains next to each other?

The two next to each other are the low point drains and only empty out what’s in the fresh water system, but NOT the fresh tank. I have a feeling you have opened one of those. Look again for a single drain sticking out and try it. Other than that, if your POSITIVE you have the fresh tank drain open, then it might be clogged.

The fresh water tank drain may be a pipe that's pointed down with a valve or a cap on it (don't confuse it with the two located next to each other-they are the low point drains) or it may be a "conglomeration of pipes and hoses that lead to the fresh water pump and split off to a faucet/valve located on the side of the trailer.

Here's a couple of photos of where the fresh water drain may be located and what it looks like and also a photo of the two "low point drains"....

Has it ever drained before? Are you a new owner? The camper is 18 years old so if it wasn't drained in the past it's probably restricted.
. As previously stated if you have the correct valve it may be clogged with sediment from minerals in "hard" water or some other foreign object . Typically the valve you are looking for is in close proximity to the water tank fill, only under the camper.
. If the valve is clogged straighten out a large paper clip and try to insert it in the open valve.

Thank you to all of you who has responded with suggestions! My husband took the shut off valve off the fresh water tank and it was completely full of sut and minerals. Problem solved, for now anyway!

I'm guessing it is a small opening. Gently push a pencil or something into the opening.

He went and bought a new fitting and shut off valve. The mineral build up was pretty hard and thick so we replaced it instead of trying to clear the blockage.

If you haven't thrown it away yet, soak the old one in a cup of white vinegar overnight. That should dissolve the minerals and you'll have a spare valve to add to the "trailer payload".....
