You're welcome. I called before I went and they said there isn't a way to enforce it and they aren't asking anyone any questions.

They spread out groups of 25 every 15 minutes. It was like having the caves to ourselves. Amazing day.

Was the sandwich bar open for lunch at the bottom of the caverns?

Yes, yogurt, juice and water. No sandwiches. I bought some oj and t shirts for the kids. Coolest gift shop, never seen one in a cave before. Kids loved it. Then we went to the elevator to more gift shops.

I just came back through NM. I stayed one night in Chama. We only walked over to a cafe for lunch. It was takeout only. We stopped for food and gas at Clines Corner, but no other stops. It looked like 90% of the plates from Santa Fe to Clines Corner were from Texas. The park in Chama was a mixture of Texas, Arizona, and Utah.

What park did you stay at in Chama?
I always liked Chama. Pretty country.
Wish I could afford a elk hunt at Chama Land and Cattle.

We stayed at Sky Mountain Resort. It has some river sites. We really liked it. We've come through the area a few times and wanted to stay in the past. My wife wanted to stay an extra night.

On a similar note, it's difficult to find RV park availability in Colorado. I couldn't find an available park on a Wednesday in Pagosa Springs. They are getting hit from two things: COVID and NM closing. Lots of campers and they got pushed from NM to Colorado.
