Length of extension cord

Hello all, I'm purchasing a 2009 Kestone Springdale. It will be primarily used for a family member to stay in for a while on my property.

My question is how long of an extension cord to supply power is too long? I was going to go with 8/4 soow cord.

Thanks for any help.

Tom

I would go with 50 Amp and the run will likely be about 100 feet.

Thank you,

Tom

The 2009 Springdale line did not have any 50 amp power systems. All were 30 amp power centers, so going with a 50 amp setup would be "overkill" and "over-priced" for what you need. Essentially, for a 100' run, depending on the outlet that you're plugging the extension cord into, if that outlet is 30 amps 120 VAC (DO NOT CONNECT TO A 240 DRYER OUTLET WHICH LOOKS THE SAME BUT WILL BURN UP YOUR TRAILER POWER SYSTEM) then a 3 wire 8 ga system would be all you'd need. The 50 amp "setups" are all 240 VAC and you don't need that for a 30 amp trailer. The only 50 amp service was on the 372/373 model and that was a part of the optional washer/dryer package.

I feel fairly confident that the 2009 Springdale you're considering is a 30 amp trailer.
