Atwood water heater issue

We have a 2013 Springdale Travel Trailer. We have an Atwood hot water heater that operates with both gas and electric. Our problem is that the electric function is heating the hot water heater when the camper is plugged into shore power. Both switches are off, yet the hot water heater is still working with electric. Propane is off. Any insight to what needs to be fixed?? We have replaced the thermostat, There doesn't seem to be a problem with the propane on off switch, but electric remains on no matter what we do. Please help.

There is a switch on the water heater itself, it might be shorted out. Try turning it off first.

Off on the switch is the top pushed in. It's opposite of what you would think.

Most common error:
OFF is actually on and ON is actually off. Every water heater with a switch is like that.

Illuminated switches are a great up grade. Not sure of OP's unit because of year but it probably only has a Lock Out indicator lamp. Hopefully his unit does not have a stuck relay that's causing 120v source to stay on full time.
