Hello,

Living in Colorado Springs and just bought a fifth wheel: 2018 Keystone Laredo 298SRL. It's a bit of a change for me as I'm used to a Class C with solar panels. I'd like to find more information about solar installation on my unit and hoping to find that and more information here. Nice to be a member. Thank you

Greetings and welcome to the forum!

Congrats on the new Laredo.

The forum has many quite knowledgeable folks as members, and one of them will be along to help with your solar questions.

Stay safe!

First, welcome to the forum. There's a wealth of experience and knowledge available at your fingertips that's already been posted by members.

Click on the Search tab in the black bar near the top of every forum webpage. Then, when the search engine opens, type "Solar Installation" in the window. That will open about 50 threads that address the topic (including this one)... Read through the threads (it'll take hours to digest all the info) and keep a notebook handy to jot down any questions you might have at any point in your research. As you read further, most of them will probably be answered, but for those that aren't, start your own thread in the Technical Corner section of the forum.

While nearly every member of the forum is "eager to help" and most will take time to answer almost any question, if the information is readily available in another thread, there's really no need to repeat what's been posted several times in the recent past.....

Take a few minutes to see what's already available, use it to your advantage and then ask away on questions where you can't find a ready answer.....

Again, WELCOME !!!!!

Welcome from Utah! We really enjoy camping in Colorado.
The 2018 Laredo was likely not equipped with the "Off the Grid" package but may have been "pre-wired" for solar. If so, there will be an SAE type connector near the front cargo door. From there, adding solar can be simple and inexpensive or very complex and very expensive. It all depends on what you're trying to do with your new rig.
Happy Camping and enjoy your new Laredo.

Howdy, neighbor. We have a 2010 Laredo 245RL that I installed solar on. Two panels on the roof over the bedroom up front, and not wanting to drill a hole in the roof for wiring, and not wanting to extend the wires back to the fridge vent and forward to the battery compartment, I chose to drape the wires over the edge of the roof and run down behind the awning arm, along side the power awning wiring. I used the same access hole into the front compartment that the awning installation uses.
It was an easy installation.

Canonman-we really enjoyed camping in Utah. We’ve spent time at Strawberry Reservoir the last few years and had a great time.

Welcome. We lived in the Springs for 4 years. Loved every moment, even the September snow falls!

Very neat! I’ve been here since the 80s and it’s getting pretty crowded now
