Bit the bullet

After reading and studying what I have learned here about payload weight, trailer length, etc. I have traded off the Ford F150 3.5 EcoBoost. Btw, I loved thst truck, it was like loosing an old friend. 😆 I traded for a 2020 Ford F350 6.7 Powerstroke, 6.75 box. I currently have a Passport 2950bh that is also a 2020. Not going to be over loaded here! Now, when everyone goes back to work and some get tired of that $600 payment on the camper they don't have time to use, I will be looking for a deal on a good 5th wheel, I believe this will happen. Anyway I have a picture attached.

Nice ride! Back to work? I never stopped through all of this covid junk. Essential business they say. Enjoy the truck.

😆, but some will be back and don't want to continue paying, boats will be the same. And thank you for the compliment, I am loving the new truck.

Papa I hear you. I loved my 1/2 tons. From my 59 Ford F100 to my 2012 Ram 1500 I loved every one of the 38-40 of them I had. I never wanted the HD trucks but once I got a newer one, nothing like the older, up to 2000 ones, I was sold. For towing a 1/2 ton just won't fill the bill in most cases for a trailer of any size. And you are right, I believe the market is going to be a buyers market in a short while. Congrats.

OK, one ton it is! What is the payload on your new F350? Sorry, can't help myself and many congrats! BTW: Never have been as busy at my business as during the covid thing.

tire pressure

Question, this new Ford has an option to monitor the trailer tire pressure, it doesn't do the temperature. Is that something worth trying and has one hear tried that feature?

I don't have a "Ford TPMS kit" on my "antiquated 2015 SuperDuty" but here's an opinion:

The Ford TPMS has what I consider a "critical disadvantage"... It does not monitor temperature, just as you stated....

That said, it's "half of the system" with no way to obtain the rest.....

Then when you consider the cost: Trailer TPMS Kit: $500 or Trailer TPMS and Camera Kit: $750, it becomes even less "attractive"... Half the information for more than double the cost of a "stand alone system"...
https://accessories.ford.com/exterio...sor-12814.html
https://accessories.ford.com/exterio...sor-12813.html

Also remember that the vehicle must be equipped with the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (874) and Sync 3. If the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System is not a part of your options, it can't be "added by the dealer" (at least not for a price most of us would pay)...

Now, every stand alone system that I've seen does not have the capacity to be incorporated into the dash display, but almost all of them are "around $200-250 and do monitor pressure and temperature" but you have that "pesky monitor to mount" on the dash or hang on the windshield....

There are some "bandit harness adapters" available that will allow incorporating a "stand alone camera or TPMS" into the dash display, but I'd question what that might do to the warranty on the electronics/navigation at the dealership ??? They may not "look kindly on mods that affect the display" if there's a problem with the display.....

Papa,
Looks like a really nice tow vehicle! Congratulations!

Keep that payload sticker handy as you shop. When you get to looking at 5th wheels you will be amazed at how quickly that 3600 payload evaporates! For grins, I looked up Keystone Raptors for 2020 and EVERY hitch weight listed is in excess of 3000. So don't assume that your new 1 ton will "tow anything."

It does have the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System, but seems a stand alone system for pressure and temperature would be best. 😊

I don't think you "bit it" but rather swallowed it whole. Nice truck!
