Dometic Thermostat

As many have experienced, the Dometic capacitive touch thermostat is defective and continues to be in most cases. In my prior experiences there was no alternative so I just kept replacing them. The new trailer came with one for the main unit - and it is wacky too.

Back in July Bill-2020 sent a link to a MicroAir replacement thermostat for the Dometic CT. It is the only replacement I'm aware of for that particular unit. I had intended to buy one but I've not had the trailer here long enough to do anything to it since we've returned. I am going to order one today and have it on hand for when the trailer comes home....someday.

I want to add that on another forum I belong to a couple of folks have installed them and report back that they are a wonderful improvement over the OE Dometic allowing setting up both the AC and furnace to maintain a set temperature, wifi connectivity and a host of other nice improvements. Hopefully I'll have the chance to get it installed prior to leaving for FL again. If not, I hope to be able to update later this year...if I don't forget...

Update on the above; ordered one a while ago; $262 shipped to TX. Hope it works like they say. Those that have it also said it eliminated all the cycling the Dometic thermostat causes.

Only complaint I have with mine is when it goes to Celsius & won't go back.

Uh, oh! The MicroAir does this? Or the Dometic CT thermostat does this?

Have my finger on the buy button...

77 will have to expound but figure he is talking about the Dometic since I've read that complaint several times. I had my finger on the buy button for quite some time before I did it but the folks that have them really like them.

I know the Dometic does. Just tap the temp buttons at the same Time and it changes.
