My dad went from a 1976 F250 Supercab with a 460 to a 1985 f150 with the six and a 5 speed stick. He found out real quick that it wouldn't tow his 26 foot SeaRay Weekender. He couldn't even back it up the slight grade in his yard. He got it out on the highway and ran it up to 55 mph in fourth, but when he shifted into fifth it slowed down. I had a 1983 Chevy 4x4 with a 350 at the time and I had to go move it for him. He had already planned on selling the boat since he was moving inland, away from the coast, but he didn't realize how gutless that six was.
