Snow Buildup Warning

Many well most won't have this problem that I noticed Monday and took care of. I'm not sure if it could have gotten worse with as much heat as the furnace puts out but it could fall over and plug it for a while maybe.

Bluewater,

That is the side exhaust/intake port for the furnace. It's almost covered with snow and should it become completely covered, fresh air to supply combustion in the furnace as well as the ability to exhaust hot gasses would be decreased or stopped. While it's not likely that complete blockage could occur, safe operation of the furnace could be affected as a result of blockage. Mikell posted a picture to let others know that it's possible to have an "issue" with the furnace vent with snow buildup around the RV.

Is that from a drift I hope
I would think that if the furnace is running it would melt away any snow within an area of the exhaust.

Thats been on going wether it's snow or the exhaust freezing I don't know but it's been well below zero for a few days. We've had about 3' of snow and high winds so yes it's a small drift.

Also if the intake and exhaust becomes covered, there is that chance of carbon monozide entering the trailer, for safety reasons, always keep that area cleared of snow as well as the water heater and refer covers

Byrdr1,

It doesn't snow in North Dakota, at least not vertically. All the snow you see there is horizontal. Produced in Montana and on its way to "Minnesoda"...

What's that old adage: "Go west young man".... for snow, in ND, it's: "Blow east big drift"
