Electric slide??

I have an older (1999) Springdale 5th wheel with a small slide......There are 2 wires that come out beside the couch arm that seems to plug into a receptacle on the wall. There is no switch or anything that I can see. I am wondering if this is for an electric motor on the slide. I have connected a battery to these wires, nothing happens. I dont feel like taking the couch apart at this time to see if anything is under there. Any ideas what this is?

my sister has a 2001 Dutchmen that has a small slide that has to be cranked in and out. try looking outside the slide-out to see if there is a socket hole.
