Postcard from Germany

Since our 3 river cruise has been put on hold, we have been tied up in Koblenz for four days waiting for the flooded rivers to recede. While here, we've been put on tour busses and have had a chance to see some highway traffic. Some observations from a bus window......

Not many RVs on the road and those that I've seen have been almost all trailers all of which are being towed by cars. A few smaller motor homes make up the rest. Pickup trucks are very rare. I've seen but one in 4 days.

So if there was a keystone forum over here, no one would be asking......"Can my pickup truck tow this trailer?"

5th wheels? Haven't seen one and not likely to either since there are no trucks.

Trailers of course are all smaller......around 16 - 22 ft.

The only campgrounds seen are those from the river. Most appear to be in grassy fields .......doesn't seem like there are designated spots.

Gotta go.......another castle is calling followed by wine tasting......

Cheers

Wine tasting??? I wondered why the stamp on this post card was purple.
It seems as if you are making the best of a soggy vacation. Prost, Hank

What part of Germany are you in? My wife and I will be there near the end of July for about 12 days in the western part of Germany near France. We have been to southern Germany (Bodensee area and Austria , Switzerland around the lake). We are trying to decide where we want to go when we are there. Maybe a day or so up to Amsterdam, possibly France........who knows.

Started in Amsterdam enroute to Budapest. We are in Koblenz near Frankfurt. Cruise has now been abandoned because of the flooded rivers and we will get to Budapest by bus.
