I just wanted to share this information with our forum members. I recently spent several days in Washington, Ga. at the Callaway Plantation. I had an absolutely wonderful stay. If you are not concerned with wifi and cable, this is a peaceful retreat. There are about ten sites there with full hook ups. The sites are spread far apart in a wooded setting with plenty of shade. They are in the process of improving the sites and the road. I would imagine at that time that it would be very big rig friendly. All of the sites are back in and all have 50 amp service. Right now, it can be a bit difficult getting around after wet weather. The road was a bit soft but had plenty of stone in it. If you enjoy history from the War against Northern aggression, there are lots of sites to take in for a short stay. There is still plenty of work to be done, but I see good things happening in the near future for this place. If you find yourself between Athens and Augusta, for only $18 per night, keep this place in mind.
