Ideas on keeping wasps out of roof a/c vents
What do you guys do to protect the roof a/c on your 5er or tt from wasps going through the vents and making nests on and in the a/c unit?
Our service lady said she has heard of people going to lowes or homedepot and buying the stuff they make screens with on our houses and putting that on the inside of the ac over the vents. I didn't think of it then but if you were to do that how would you get it to stick to the inside?
Do you guys have some other ideas to keep the wasps and other insects out of the ac vents??? Or is the window screen the best idea?

I have not done the a/c.
I have added screen wire on the Refrigerator side vent and the hot water heater. I used the hot glue gun to attach the screen. The problem is the hot glue melted on the water heater exhaust vent....... Had to attached a different way.
I may take look at the a/c and the refrigerator roof vent.

I hang wasp traps. If you are successful in screening off your ac unit they will find another home around or in your camper!

I had trouble with mud dauber wasps (but not in A/C) around TT. I found they stay far away from flea collars. I put pieces around in likely spots, and mud daubers don't go there. You might try that, it is simple and easier than screening IMHO.

It sounds like its going to be a pain to do the screen on the ac vents so I think I will try the flea collar in the ac housing first. Any sign of wasps up there and I will take the screening route.
Thanks guys I do appreciate the replys.

Wasps and dirt daubers
I will be bringing the TT to the deer lease in a couple of weeks and was worried about the wasp and drainers getting in vents. Could y'all elaborate on where you are putting this flea collar pieces and traps. Do they actually work or should the screens be used also. Didn't think about the a/c. Where would the screens go on that. A little more detail would be very helpful. Thanks

I use 1/8" hardware cloth for all of my appliance vents. You can get it just about anywhere. The open mesh allows for better air flow and won't plug up with dust and lint and impede air flow like window screen will.
To attach it I use 1/8" pop rivets and put a small washer to back them to keep the rivet from pulling through plastic material. Attaching to sheet metal isn't a problem.
It works as well as the high dollar stainless steel screens the RV places sell, and it's going to be galvanized so it doesn't rust from moisture.
