Composit LP Tank

Anyone tried these yet? They are 30% lighter and you can see the propane level inside them. I came across them at my RV dealer earlier today, and Wow are they light weight! I know the propane inside is still the same weight.

Plenty of reviews of them at Amazon. Not tempting enough for me.

Somehow I just feel safer with steel around me than with plastic. That holds true for my truck body as well as my LP tank body.... Just one guy's opinion, but I agree, it ain't broke and I'm thinking it don't need fixin'

Looks cool. I've never seen those, used to see the odd aluminum 30lber though. I doubt that my propane dealer would want to fill the composite ones.

They have a larger diameter than steel.

ReCert? I did not know that was something that ever needed to be done with these tanks...

Yup, there will come a time when you take an empty tank to be refilled and the guy at Ace Hardware (or wherever) will look at the cert date on the tank collar and tell you, "I'm sorry sir, but I can't fill this tank, it's outdated"

That's when most people who own an LP grill with a 20 lb tank find out about the cert requirements.
