WD Bar Rating

I asked the dealer to install 1000lb bars instead of the 800lb bars they wanted to. How can I tell the difference? Are the bars stamped or marked somehow. They're installing a Reese WD system.

Mine (~1996) have a label on each bar indicating their rating.

According to the Reese website, they only offer 600, 800, and 1200 bars. The part number will be stamped into the metal of the bar. You can look up the part number with the search feature on the website.

You didn't mention your actual trailer and tongue weight. Oversizing bars significantly can lead to damage of other components.
