TV on a program

My TV came to me with a mini-Chip programmer. The truck drives fantastic. 2008 F-350 CC SRW. Some of the road checklists suggest I disable the programming and return to stock. What Say You?

I'd suggest joining the Powerstroke.org forum, or The diesel stop and Powerstroke Nation forums, and ask the guys that have 6.4's, I have a 7.3 and running a tuner is no big deal, I know that the 6.4 makes great power, but poor fuel mileage, and repairs can be costly.

youll have better luck on the ford truck or powerstroke forums.

But being an 08 and it having the 6.4 which is notorious for bad fuel mileage during a regen is it possible the pervious owner dumped the DPF?

I'm with Hansel on looking at the forums specific to Ford diesels. That's where you need to ask a question like this.

As a former 2009 F-350 diesel owner, and knowing the '08s had more engine problems than the '09s, there is no way I would have added a chip to our 2009. The 6.4 was a nice engine for us for the 97,000 miles we had it, but it's very true on the bad fuel mileage during regenning. And also very true on expensive to repair if something major goes wrong (but that part is true with any engine that need major repairs).

Leave it. Truck prob runs better, gets better Millage, more usable power, and might even help with some of the aforementioned problems the stock trucks had. Problems arise with tuners when people are beating on these trucks and pushing limits. Common sense prevails.
