This should be monitored and avoided if at all possible. Turbo temps are very high when in regen. It is not if but when you will have turbo failure after enough high temp shutdowns.
Both of mine must stay in regen cause I've never NOT heard the pump clearing the DEF line on shut down. It happens every time I turn the key off.

I monitor the EGTs at my turbo, the regen process does not effect the temps at that point in the exhaust system. My dmax comes with 4 different EGT sensors, the one just in front of the DPF and the one behind the DPF are the only ones that show increased temps during the regen process. Keep in mind that the regen process dumps fuel into the exhaust at the DPF with a 9th injector (7th on Dodge). It is a down stream process. Of course, this is on the newer trucks. Older trucks dumped extra fuel into the cylinders which did increase exhaust temps as well as caused some cylinder wash as well as oil dilution.
