The wear and tear is going to be on your wallet because these units are about as efficient as a window A/C. You can also help it by going through and making sure that the AC plenum and ducting are properly taped/sealed and that you aren't losing cold air up in the roof area.

The $$$ to run the A/C will certainly be the biggest factor in how often it does indeed operate while parked here at home. Good points you offered as far as things to do if not running the A/C, I will certainly follow your advice.

Javi, I know what you mean about the "rare Texas day" when it is cool out. I haven't opened a window in this trailer yet, but I do look forward to a November day when I can.
