Recliners

So I want to take out the rear recliners and put in some nicer ones.
I want the ones that can go against the wall and recline inwards to save some room.
Are these an RV thing or has anyone bought them from a store?
Also I'm a little concerned about getting them through the door.

We bought some from lazy boy a few years ago, they are not huge but I don't know if they would fit in a TT very well. They do slide out away from the wall. I will have to measure to be sure but you might want to see what they have.

try a google search for

zero clearance rv recliners
or
zero clearance recliners

some recliners have a detachable back making it easier to get them through narrow doorways

take measurements to be sure

Thanks guys, it would be nice to find some where the backs come off.
I've never shopped for furniture, the wife does so I guess she'll have to drag me out sometime during the week.

last year we purchased a couple of recliners for the house and when they delivered them they had to assemble the backs and stand. When they come that way they are definitely smaller but I would take a tape messure to make sure they will fit through the door.

I was looking at the prices of recliners and they sure seem to be expensive
D says that 1500 a chair is a fair price, now I know why I never shop for furniture!

Steve,
I did a quick google search on Laz-e-boy chairs and found this:
http://www.la-z-boy.com/Product/6485...tFitInMySpace?

I bought mine in 1998, it is leather and it looks as good today as when I bought it. Mine is a rocker too which I don't think would work too good in a TT. The link takes you to a model that does not rock and moves very little from the wall. The chair seems to be fairly small and it's under $500.
good luck on the shopping
Tracy

Hi Tracy,
Thanks for the link, I see there's a store just down the street from me so that's on the bucket list! Or on hers
On the way back from the RV store I pulled in to a furniture warehouse (alone) and I found the look that I'm after but they seemed kind of cheap but at least I saw a ton of recliners so that's a start

We just replaced our sofa bed last week.Went with a double reclining love seat.Has a center consol with cup holders and remote hidy hole.Bought it a FFO.Backs came off really easy and had the oldest son help me put it in.Fit thru the door nicely. Also removed the dinette and put in a free standing table and chairs from the same place.Sure will be glad when it warms up so we can get out and use the camper again.

I may have to get one for myself, I have the two nice chairs that came with the Fuzion but they are not as comfortable as a recliner. Keep us posted on what you end up with.

Dave, I would love to see a picture of it setup in your camper. That sounds like a nice setup.

Steve -
I'm sure you can find a decent recliner for considerably less than $1500. In your area, there are numerous furniture outlets so you will have plenty from which to choose. There are quite a few "wall huggers" out there that have backs that can be removed.

So on my travels I pulled in to a few furniture stores and found exactly what I was looking for.
It's the right size, reclines and only $600.00.
Now it's up to them to see if they can get it in my color and I'm set.

So I bought a really nice recliner yesterday, different one from the pic above.
It's zero clearance, warm fabric, the back came off for ease of moving it in and it's very comfy!
I bought it off of CL, the guy bought it new, had it for a week and decided it didn't fit with his furniture so I picked it up fairly cheap.
I would take a pic but I'm too lazy to get up from it.

Nice, Dave,
That does look comfortable for sure. Thanks

We purchased wall hugged recliners from Glastop RV whip orders custom chairs from Lambright Comfort chairs in Indiana. You can order them in leather of cloth. They are very nice and narrow for RV needs and affordable for $750 (cloth) with shipping.

Lazy Boy recliners

I am typing this from my wall hugger recliner purchased 2 years ago. Back easily removes for door entry. Have my BRAND NEW "incliner" crap chair sitting in my attic at the house. Liked this chair soooo much we bought one for the wife at home as well.

In the fiver, it fits easily in the former incliner space and when set up I slide it out and face it towards the TV for comfortable viewing versus neck pain from side viewing. What a dumb original set up. You would think they could have devised a slide rail to pull a chair out very easily. WHO watches TV with their neck twisted at 90 degrees? Not me!

These chairs are very reasonably priced. I chose fabric versus leather because of comfort in cooler weather and non tackiness in summer. It's my experience from my $1200 leather recliner at home. Replacing it soon with fabric as well.

I am sure you can find your needs for a chair at LazyBoy.

Outbackmel and others -
Seems like Steve, the OP, has bought a recliner from Craig's List and likes it so much he can't get out it.

Yeah it's pretty tough to get up from it in the mornings and sure is nice to kick back in the evenings with the furnace blasting
D has asked me when I'm going to start sleeping in it, I'm thinking the same thing
