Mushroom

A coworker of mine has a hard sided forest river travel trailer that he bought used. Over time a lump formed inside the ceiling. He cut it open only to find a mushroom inside. He then cut it out. He swears that there are no leaks and that all the wood inside is good and dry bud the mushroom regrows over time. Any thoughts??

I would wonder if chlorine bleach used as a spray wouldn't kill the mould. It kills just about everything else. Good Luck!

I agree with GBHRPS, kill the mold (mushroom) with bleach, then check for moisture intrusion. It could be that somehow the area just got moist due to interior moisture. You would want to kill any fungus immediately and follow-up by checking for a leak. Don't mess around with this! Deal with the fungus (mushroom) immediately! I'd delve deeper into what is behind this area and make sure that this problem doesn't continue after killing the fungus.
