Trailer Storage

I'm unfortunately having to store my alpine for a while due to some family issues. Can anyone offer any advise of steps to take for long term storage? checking to see if there is anything I might have missed.I've got it off the tires, everything drained, covered, anything else i might be missing?

Thank to you all in advance.

Here's a Winterizing Checklist I found from a YouTube I watched recently. I would give credit, but don't find it on this sheet. If you PM me with your email, I can send you a PDF of the original, which is laid out very nicely, with check boxes.

RV Winter Prep and Storage
Protect Plumbing From Freezing
  • Bypass water heater
  • Drain and flush water heater
  • Remove water filters if any
  • Option 1 use air compressor to
  • blow water out of water lines
  • Option 2 use RV Antifreeze with
  • water pump for each fixture
  • Don’t forget the low point drain
  • or city water connection
  • Use RV Antifreeze in sinks and
  • all drain traps
  • Fully empty all storage tanks
  • Black Tank
  • Fresh Water
  • Grey Tank
  • Galley Tank
Check RV Weather Seals
  • Inspect roof for any
  • penetrations or cracks in caulk
  • Inspect side walls
  • Check door and window
  • sealant edge
  • Check seams and any
  • penetration
Tires Protected
  • Tires inflated to Max Cold PSI
  • Fully supported on flat surface
  • Option to elevate on rubber
  • mat surface
  • Lower RV Stabilizers.
  • Cover tires
Rodent Control
  • Seal any hole or possible
  • entrance with wire mesh and
  • foam or caulking
  • Use preferred deterrent
  • (strobe light, Bounce Dryer
  • Sheet, Ivory Soap)
Battery maintenance storage
options
  • Use solar to keep batteries
  • charged
  • Plug in RV once every 3 weeks
  • for a day to keep batteries
  • topped off
  • Pull batteries out to keep
  • charged for convenience
Fuel System
  • Fuel stabilizer in fuel tank and
  • engine
  • Fuel stabilizer in generator
Extra
  • Check on it occasionally inside
  • and out to head off any issues.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

John

First of all all you need to do is drain all the water except leave some in the toilet bowel That keeps the seal moist. Next is you can leave the tires on the ground that makes no difference to tires. DON'T cover the trailer. The wind will whip the cover which in turn will scratch the sides of your trailer. It's best to wash and wax it before you put it in storage. Last but not least remove the battery. There are things in your RV that will not turn off unless you disconnect the battery completely. One more LOL Close all the vents and windows. No reason to leave them open.

Storing at home or commercial lot? Depending on security you might want to remove battery, propane tanks, anything easily removed.

As far as mouse control, you can put out your bars of soap but after sealing as well as you can, they can still get in as they are smarter than you are. Poison works for me.
