Replacing My Footees

The two feetees in the front of a 5th Wheel, I damaged one of the telescoping feetees. How do you replace just the feetees? I believe I discovered a novel way to do it. What I did is place the RV on my truck so the feetees could be hung and manipulated. I first cut the cuffs that hold the feetee in place or allow it to lengthen. Then I dug a hole under the feetee and pulled the feetee out. Then I replaced the feetee from one I bought. And also put in the new collar. Same with the other side. I thought my way was pretty novel.
