Weather proofing or weatherizing the ramp

There have been some discussions about the weather/rain repellency of the rear ramp on the toy hauler. I didn't order my Raptor with the patio option since it's going to be a garage not spare room for critters with any number of legs. But this week we took it down to the bayou property and I lowered the ramp which let in a lot of light and of course the nice view of the water. We had some rain so I raised the ramp. I'm skeptical that the ramps are built to be able to handle repeated and sustained wet conditions without damages and delamination. The ramp surface itself looks fairly repellant but door/ramp trim along the edges doesn't appear to be caulked or sealed which could allow water to get into the ramp inner parts.

Perhaps a brief shower wouldn't hurt anything but a little water can do a lot of damage to an RV. Any suggestions to seal it or have any owners had any issues of a repeatedly soaked ramp problems?

I suppose some good quality sealant around the aluminum edging couldn't hurt. As you said the sand paper surface should be water proof.

I watched that and will look at some various products to seal all the vulnerable areas.

Maybe a "consultation with the local Rhino Liner or Line-X truck bed dealer.

I'd go with a bedliner material as well. You can DYI it your ok with a basic color or if you go to a shop that does it you can have them custom mix the color to match or if you wish to compliment the color of the door/ramp.

The ramp is "basic black" and it appears to have the same texture as the Line-X bedliner in the truck. That's one thing I really like about the ramp, the surface has grit and probably won't be slippery like my 11 Raptor 300MP when it got wet. I'll spend some time up close and personal with the ramp and see where water may get inside and work on a plan to seal. I have no intention to leave not exposed to the weather but don't wan inadvertent damage.
