Residential Refrigerator and GFI

If I am correct, my refrigerator would run off shore power or when disconnected from shore power the solar charged battery will take over. Here’s where the question comes in, when the GFI pops in the bathroom the refrigerator shuts down completely, shouldn’t the shore power still supply power to the refrigerator? The technicians said it may be the inverter and they are changing the GFI plug in the bathroom first.

If your fridge is plugged into a GFCI protected outlet, then the GFCI will trip and not allow power to the fridge no matter the source of the power.

Does it work fine on shore power and only trip on inverter? If so I would suspect the wiring in the inverter.

Does the fridge run off shore power and then off the solar/battery/inverter when unplugged from shore power (forget about the GFI plug)? If so that part is good. The next, more important question, is why does the GFI plug "pop"? It shouldn't be popping unless there is an unsafe electrical condition or it's defective. Are your breakers labeled? Do you have one for GFI and one for Fridge? If not is the fridge plugged into a chain of outlets controlled by the GFI outlet? If so when the GFI pops the fridge loses AC.
