Toilet bolt

At the end of our recent trip, one of the Toilet bolts came out in our Keystone Passport 2670bh. It feels like the bolt just connects to something in the floor but I couldn’t find it when I tried for just a bit. I can either keep searching for a while or pull out the other one, so I can remove the toilet and see what I’m looking for. Suggestions?

Thanks

They probably used a plastic floor flange. We had the flange break on one side a while back. I bought one of these, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-0-...7782/303864005 , along with some flathead stainless steel screws that fit the holes in the flange. I was able to install the flange over the cheap plastic flange and used new toilet bolts to re-anchor the toilet. I think the toilet is more solidly mounted to the floor now than when the trailer was new.

You will have to remove the toilet for however/whatever fix you make.

We use those at work, they are easy to install and last a long time.

Not a hard repair. Make sure you have a replacement gasket and stuff a rag into the toilet opening so nothing drops in. Don't ask me how I know.

I use a red plastic solo cup. It fits the hole and unlike a rag, won't slip down the toilet plumbing like a rag... Don't ask me how I know... LOL

Don't let the DW clean the toilet with one those cleaner heads that snap on/off!
Also don't ask how I know......

Annnnd remember to remove the rag or Solo cup BEFORE bolting the toilet back down!!

Let me guess... don’t ask how you know?

The title of this post was perfect. Caught my eye because I fear the day I have to fix/replace something on the toilet and it involves removing it. Let’s see, tools... check... tank empty...check. Tank flushed...check... Now to get that solo cup!

I wonder how it’s bolted to my floor, the “hydro deck” as they call it. Nothing much there for a screw to grab ahold of.

Hmmm, almost missed that one. Replacement gasket....is there a “special” one for TTs? Or should I use a wax gasket?

Thanks in advance!

They use a special foam rubber gasket. I get on Amazon and always carry a spare. You just never know! Any RV store has them.

I followed your advice and when with the Home Depot flange and it worked like a charm! Took 30 minutes and we took our time. Great suggestion; you saved me some big bucks!
