Eternabond on slide?

Might be a silly question, I don't know yet.

I've seen posts about people putting eternabond tape on the top of the slide-out. I was wondering if anyone puts it over the bottom and side strips on the slide-out also? It looks like those are the most likely places for water to make it's way into the slide floor. I know those can be more readily seen when the slide is out so that could be a deal breaker for many. I was just curious.

Bottom and side strips on the slide?? Are you talking about the horizontal transition strips on the ends of the slide?

Sorry, completely new to slides. There are metal strips with screws along the bottom of the slide. They have (silicone?) sealant just above them. They look like the strips holding the roof membrane on the top. Lots of videos of people putting eternabond on the ones on the roof.

I wouldn’t put eternabond tape on those strips. It would rub on the sweeper seals and the edges may start curling, causing a bigger issue.

Thank you. This is probably why I haven't seen any posts about it and probably means it was a dumb question.

I really appreciate your non-snarky response.

Curt

Hi Curt,

Don't worry, there are no "dumb" questions.

Take care!
