Melted my grill

Well after the DW cooked a whole chicken on the grill... I decided to burn it off. Well As you can see in the pics..I did just that!!! Gonna have to order another grate and a handle. I blame it on the one too many adult sodas. I'm a donkey.

Talking Wow

Nice job Mingo. You can't burn the crap off of those aluminum grills like you can with a steel grill. Chock it up as a lesson learned!

I had the same grill, and it did the same thing, only I was cooking baked potatoes on it. The instructions(which I read after I melted it) said to only cook with the lid in the opened position. I threw the whole thing away, and chalked it up as a loss. I bought a $14 grill that goes over the campfire, and I'm a happy camper again.

I think she'll live to cook another day. Just gotta get a grate. Heck I can customize a handle. Got a stainless back up Magma stainless kettle grill I use on the boat if needed. If not ill gladly listen to recommendations on a new grill. Maybe Santa is reading this!!! Ahhh lessons learned.

Howdy All;

Had a Smokey Joe Silver (air inlets on bottom), found this site and .....
well, gathered up the components and built a "Mini WSM"

Sorry I don't have pix to show it off.
The forum index

http://tvwbb.com/forumdisplay.php?74...ni-WSM-Project

has about 1,500 posts on the how to's and folks
showing theirs off... I have a post in the linked thread (Hank H),and is at the bottom of page 2...

http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?3669...-purpose/page2

Gas grills have their own place, my preferance is charcoal.....

Game Warden. Just ordered a cast iron one for 26 bucks with free shipping. The other side is already a cast iron griddle explains why it didn't melt as well. The handle is purchased as part of the lid which is no longer avail/sold therefore I will just simply make one. Or use one from an old grill I have lying around. I got off easy this time. Whew. Santa hold off on the request....lets see what do I want instead? Ideas?
