New to Forum

Hey! I was just looking at complaints/suggestions about others opinions about Outbacks. Decided I would join in and receive, and give info to help out.
We have a 2019 Outback 335cg, pull it with our 2018 Titan xd gassser. Other than the gas mileage, pulls like a dream.

We just had out on a 1900 mile round trip, and we actually found it pulled better with a 900lbs bike in the back.

I would like some good info about the garage area. would like to put a mount on the floor to keep the bike safer, but so far, no good info on floor structure. So, if any one has info,,, please feel free to shoot it my way!

Technically your titan is a three-quarter ton truck. I tow Fifth wheel and it feels better with couple thousand pounds in the garage . Have you installed air bags if not you might look into them. When looking under your camper is it insulated with the underbelly or a hard board?

How's that "technically" a 3/4 ton truck. I've always heard them referred to as in between a 1/2 and a 3/4, sort of like a heavy duty 1/2 tom.

Comparison between the big 3 spec sheet with Titan Involved . With HP, torque, payload is right in with the 3/4 truck . That’s what they’re saying and the specs are showing it. If I could paste and Post spreadsheet I would.

Wow!
Just more confusing misinformation by manufacturer to further confuse those new to towing RVs, a 3/4???? ton Nissan Titan!!!

Do you have a link to that? My question would be how many have that payload capacity at in what configuration. Sounds like the same rhetoric the big 3 use in their advertising, the "max towing and payload based on a stripped down 2 wd single cab with a bench seat. JMHO I wouldn't put much stock in anything associated with MT.

It's been my experience that when a truck manufacturer says "yes, we have one like that" then the other 99.9% of them aren't like that.

A coworker has a 2017 Titan XD, payload is 2700. I would say thats 3/4 ton like. It's a beast.

Here's a link to a test of the XD on the Ike Gauntlet by TFL trucks which do a pretty good job generally. Notice the payload of the XD is 17xx lbs. not 2700. One thing they did not check and should have was the brake temps. Nissan has had problems with their brake temps in previous TFL tests but this was strictly a towing test (9200lbs). Note the payload nor the max tow numbers come anywhere near a 3/4 ton gas truck. My payload was 3190 and max tow was almost 12k as I recall.

Edit: the 335cg is a 10,500lb trailer (over max tow weight) = approx. 1365 tongue at 13%.

I looked at his max load sticker on the door post.
Hi likes his truck and uses a small camper on it so he can haul a small fishing boat. He's had no issues with it.

Claiming the Nissan Titan XD is a 3/4 ton is the same as calling the Honda Ridgeline a truck!

Hmmmm, I wonder where the extra 1,000 lbs. of payload came from. So far, I've talked to 5 owner's of the XD. Out of the five, 4 of them let me see their payload numbers. I don't recall the years of them except the last one which was brand new last summer. It belonged to the roofing contractor that was working on our house. His was was pretty optioned out and his payload was just under 1,700 lbs. As I recall the others were all under about 1,800 lbs.

Admittedly that's a small cross section of trucks but an extra 1K in payload? I'd have to see that one.

Depending on configuration 2700 pay load . We haven’t heard back from the OP to what configuration titan is driving.

This seems to be the same discussion that comes up with regard to the F150 HDPP (heavy duty payload package) option - another '5/8 ton' truck. I believe the HDPP is only available through the Lariat trim level - perhaps not even that high anymore. Even so, there will still be a decent amount of difference between an HDPP XL or XLT as compared to the Lariat. In general, owners seem to list their HDPP payload in the 2300 - 2600 pounds range. That 32xx payload HDPP would be a stripped down XL, in the supercab configuration (I think). I don't think I've seen any owner indicate a sub-2K payload at F150.com

Isn't the Titan XD available with a diesel option? If so, I would think that could definitely put you below 2K.
