Solar Inverter- Victron choices

I've purchased the Victron multi plus 3000, but haven't installed it yet. Reading through the manual for the charge controller it has a pamphlet highlighting the Quatro inverter for installs with a generator, or accepting 2 inputs, shore power and or a generator.

Has anyone installed the Multi Plus 3000 in an RV that has a 5500w Onan?
I'm wondering if I need to trade to the Quatro before I get too far into this install. Will the Multi Plus accept the input from a generator?

That thing is expensive and neat . I’m thinking you could connect it to any circuit in the camper because it has built in relays are preventing feed back .
