What will be your "first" trip of the year

Been hitting the trailer on weekends all winter, but now the DW'S got the itch real bad for some regular camping in another place. We have to pull the TT out of winter storage campground by May 5th because the monthly rate turns into the "summer" rate like 20 fold, and then some... So DW decided, instead of pulling the TT home and waiting for warmer weather, lets start summer early and go to the state park close by... I just drive the TV..

Harrisville State Park, Harrisville Michigan. PLace opens on May 5th for the year, we will be at the gate waiting..!!!!!!!

What about you??

We usually do 3-4 weekends in May to start off the year but we are slow in booking this year. In the middle of something and might need one or two weekends. Good part about May is there are plenty of openings at most campgrounds.

Easter weekend will be our first trip in the new Toy Hauler....the first trip of the year, the first trip ever....in any camper. We've spent months preparing the TH getting ready. I built a slider for the baggage compartment, added a TPMS system, an EMS by Progressive, added a light to the baggage compartment, a tool box to the garage, a clothes rack, a tire rack (motorcycle tires and wheels), wheel chocks, I installed a LevelMate Pro leveling system, air bags to the truck, an aux. fuel tank to the truck....and probably some things I'm not remembering. It's been a busy winter, but just under two weeks to go and it will all be worthwhile. First stop, Barber Motorsports Park, a world class road course located in Leeds, AL

I've done 20 days in Key West, 3 full weeks in Atlanta and two weekends in Myrtle Beach since 1/4/17. Heading to Myrtle Beach every weekend until the end of the month. If I'm not in my camper, I'm wishing I was in it.

Maiden Voyage on the new 2810Bh will be at Potato Creek State Park in Indiana. We will go in May. It will be our tune up trip, to see how she handles before the summer long trips.

Going to the RV show in Elkhart, Indiana

Heading there on the 26th of April and staying until Saturday the 29th. Going to stay at the KOA nearby. When we decided to get a 5th wheel we planned to go there to figure out what we wanted. We ended up buying our Raptor 355TS back in February, but decided to go to the RV show anyway as our maiden voyage.

Going to Texas next month, but without the trailer. Next trip is Alaska, but without the trailer. So who knows? Might be able to squeeze one in before AK.

We anticipate heading from FL to New England, taking the most direct route we can think of: via TN (Memphis), CO (Denver, wedding-related activities, dinosaur sites, RMNP), WY (Ft. Laramie), SD (various caves, Mt. Rushmore, dinosaur sites, Minuteman missile museum), MN (Mall of America), IN (Keystone tour, Ft. Wayne and Indianapolis) and other parts in between (that's all we have mapped out so far).

Any suggestions on what "not to miss" between IN and New England area?

Our "first" trip was from Jan.1 thru Mar. 7 in the FL panhandle (a continuation from Nov - Dec. We would have made another trip by now but the RV is in the shop. May will be at our house in the NM mountains. June will be in a condo in Pagosa Springs. July back in NM. We will spend 2 weeks in Aug. in San Antonio in a condo. September - early Oct. we hope to tour some of the TX hill country in the RV. Last week of Oct. we head back to FL to stay until April of next year. Whew! I might have to scale back some of our activities Just listing it wore me out

The DW's niece is graduating HS in May in CO.

We are spending 3 nights in Palo Duro Canyon SP, 5 nights in Junction Creek NFS CO and 3 nights in my BIL's driveway, then beat it home in one, long haul.

Our 2nd trip in the new rig will be 4/21 to Triple Brook campground in Blairstown, NJ for a shakedown cruise. I started dewinterizing last weekend and will finish this one weather permitting. Next is the June NASCAR race in Dover, DE. We just got confirmation today we will be in the new Campion's Gate camping.
