Running AC..HIgh fan, auto or low fan

This summer when running my ac ( I only have a front ac) I noticed a few times it would freeze up. I was running the AC on Auto. A person told me I should be always running it using High fan. What is everyone's idea on this? what do you do?

When running our AC units I set the fan to either medium or high, as to just keep the air circulating when the compressor shuts down! Never had a "freeze up" and maybe that is why?

I've run mine both ways, fan on and on auto. Never had a freeze up.

How cold are you setting your AC down too?

We always leave the fan on as it is consistent white noise rather than having everything come on at once. Never had a freeze up issue.
