spare keys nightmare

I have a 2015 Alpine fifth wheel. I lost one of my sets of keys. The dealer General RV in Utah was no help to me. They looked around to see if they had a spare key but no luck. I visited locksmiths from Utah to Texas. I had no luck getting a new set made because they didn’t have any blanks that would work. One locksmith even hand cut some keys after I left a door with him. How can they sell me a 60,000 dollar trailer and not be able to get a spare set of keys made for it. Just unbelievable. I finally got a lead to go to “rv locks and more” website. It was great. Put in the key number and a week later keys that work. It is too bad they don’t sell fifth wheels.

I had the opposite experience from my dealer. We too lost one set of our keys, and I called the dealer to order a replacement set. The parts guy right off said, 'yes, we could order some for you, but really it would be cheaper and faster for you to just go to 'rvlocksandmore.com', and order them yourself.

I like some of the options the site gave for keys and locks, worth a look for almost everyone who has an RV.

What a worthless dealer. He could have easily did #1 get the number off the door that shows what key it takes and ordered it for you. Or #2 gave you the phone number of the co. and explained to look at the door, write down the key number and phone them yourself.
