vent hood filter

What is the best way to maintain carbon vent hood filters?

All the literature I found on the net says to replace annually. Guess they're disposable.

OTH, if you already have one, what did it say on the package about maintenance or replacement?

Or, if it's mentioned in the stove manual, same question back to you.

From my owners manual, it says to wash in regular mild soap water....and drip dry...

EDIT : OOPS wrong filter...lol

From another site that illustrates carbon range hood filters :

" Carbon filters cannot be washed or cleaned, and should be replaced every few months (depending on amount of cooking)."
