Non Keystone electrical question
OK... My sister's Gulfstream Conquest Class C. Believe it is either 2020 or 2021 as they bought it new a couple months ago. They have been gone back to Tennessee to get their house sale there in order and are on their way back. It has been plugged into shore power (30A service) for the time they have been gone and A/C has been on set to 80F and work OK. My BIL pulled the slides in before leaving.
He asked me to turn the A/C temp down a bit and put the slides out. Turned down the temp OK but when I attempted to put the slides out, they were dead as a door nail. No idiot lights on the tank or battery monitor. 12V ceiling lights worked fine. Checked the slide out fuse (15A) with a meter and it was fine.
Started the truck and was able to operate the slide outs (moved them out). What does this sound like? House batteries? They should have been charging since it was on 30A shore power but who knows? Would appreciate some help as I hate to have to round up a mobile tech for something simple.

Sounds like dead batteries.
Check the batteries with the volt meter, first with it plugged in then unplug and check after about 30 minutes. You can also unplug try the slide and see what the volt meter shows.
Should be 13.3 to 14.4 when plugged into shore power.
Should be above 12.5 when not plugged in.
I have had batteries show 12.6 but under load read only 8.6v. Bad battery.
11.7 or so may indicate a bad cell, bad battery.
Led light can work under low voltages so it’s not a good indicator.
Post your results and I’m sure you will get advice on your next steps.

Didn't they have previous electrical issues where you by rewired something to get them running? Can't remember the specifics but thinking it maybe was the transfer switch?

Wonder if there is a interlock switch to prevent slides from working while driving …or before you drive..may have an extra switch since it’s a motor home

We did have issues previously with the generator cut over component; I opened the box where that thing is located and wired direct from power cord into box then to breakers; nothing changed except eliminated the cut over component which had fried. Since they are staying in the camper, can't take it to a repair place at this point.
There is no switch to keep the slides from operating; only two rocker switches for the bedroom slide and cabin slide. These were dead prior to turning on the Class C engine. Then they worked. Since it was plugged into shore power, suspect the batteries as well but they are a total pain to get to and since the slides didn't move unless the engine running feel it prudent to let them get a tech to do this stuff I guess as they will be back here later this afternoon. There are at least two batteries in a compartment very difficult to get into under the cabin slide. It is only about big enough to stuff the batteries into.

Most motorhomes will have an interlock for the slides on the parking brake circuit.

Some require the engine running, some require key on and engine off, some require key off… I can’t remember them all But I believe they ALL require the parking brake to be engaged.

Gothca. Didn't think to check the parking brake as the Class C has not moved in about a month and the slides were pulled in when my sis & BIL left for Tennessee. Will check. thanks
Parking brake was set. I would think an interlock would be on when the parking brake is off... is this correct?

Call off the urge to help! BIL has a battery cut off and turned it to off when they left even though the camper was plugged into shore power. He said he thought that was what was supposed to be done if not in the trailer for awhile. Turned the battery cut off to ON and now things are as they should be. I haven't had a cut off in my last couple trailers; Cougar doesn't have one so didn't consider this as a possible issue.

Hey George....
Check to see if the BCO switch is in the off position.... Sometimes people will turn that switch off, even if it should be left on.....

I'm confused. 1/2 you guys are talking about a MH and the other 1/2 are talking about a truck and trailer. Which is it?
