Some of the equipment we have with LCD displays (not our levelers, but pool equipment, irrigation equipment, and the like) have real problems with ambient temperatures, especially in the desert southwest. If they get too high, the panels just blank out. They're still "running," but the ambient heat swamps the small heaters underneath and just activates the entire crystal, making it look blank. Perhaps Lippert used different spec panels in different models or years.
