I'll agree to "It doesn't matter if there's 5' or 1000' between your feet and the bottom"... With less than 5', I can stand on the bottom and still be "above water". Makes breathing a helluva lot easier LOL

Interesting they allow snow machines but no other motorized vehicles??

I haven't done the ice crossing since the 90's but back then during the winter snowmobiles and airplanes were the only way on and off the island. I doubt it has changed. The people who live there use their snowmobiles to get around and to get supplies from main land. The kids even ride them to school. I have a picture of the school parking lot. Looking through my pictures the sled I was riding that day was a 2000 millennial edition ski doo so I was last there may be like 02 or something.
