Hi from Tennessee
Hi. We are new to this forum. We bought our first travel trailer (2019 Cougar 22RBS in March and love it. After a couple of local trips, we headed out June 6 for a 30-day plus adventure. It originally was to be Tennessee to Arizona to Montana, South Dakota and back home. However, my wife fell and broke her leg at the Arizona Snow Bowl. After a week thinking it was a bad sprain, a trip to the emergency room at the hospital in Panguitch, Utah confirmed the fracture. A referral to an orthopedist in Cedar City, Utah led to surgery the next day. A plate with seven screws secured the fracture. After two weeks in a cast and a wonderful stay in Cedar City (our new favorite city), the cast came off, and the boot went on. Hopefully, in 3 more weeks, we will get an OK to return to work.
We headed back to Tennessee after the cast came back. Though we did not take the trip we planned, the altered itinerary was just as good. We fell in love with Utah and saw many wonderful places in Colorado, Kansas and Missouri.
We love our Cougar. We tow it with a 2012 Nissan Armada SL 5.3 V8. The trailer tows effortlessly. The 26ft trailer has almost everything we want. The perfect version for us would have space for a washer/dryer combo, but, hey, we knew that going in. My other recommendation would be to have leveling jacks instead of stabilizers. We added an observation camera on the back (pre-wired for Furrion), an excellent investment.
Next summer, we plan to do the northern route and stay again in Cedar City. We are both school bus drivers, so we share the same time off. We will spend fall break in Townsend, Tennessee (Smokey Mountains). Our eventual plans are to be full-timers. Previous to this, we owned two different Class A's. They were nice, but have decided we did not need to have that much room. The more compact space of the Cougar fits us fine. We find living the RV lifestyle works to our advantage. We do not want as much TV, read more, walk more (except when breaking fibulas), eat less and better, enjoy the people we meet and see more of this beautiful country. It may not be everyone's style of living, and that is OK with us.

Next time, visit us down here in desert Arizona -- no treacherous snow and ice here, just rattlers and scorpions.

Familiar with the desert. Lived in Arizona for 17 years, from 77-94. Flagstaff, Phoenix, Mesa and Scottsdale. Son still lives in Flag, reason for visiting there. Love the desert. It is a dry heat.

Coincidentally, DW broke her wrist on black ice as we were preparing to leave New England to move to Arizona. She says never again to cold country...!
