Bedding sizes...

We are new to camping with an RV and recently ordered a Cougar 22RBS. We're beginners but we're trying to get some things for that first trip which we're hoping will be in a couple weeks.

What size bedding should we get for the "king bed"?

We were also thinking of getting a mattress to fit over the dinette area sleeper. Is there something that fits available?

Thanks for the help!

I use a twin size air mattress over the dinette sleeper, cheap and fairly comfortable. Can't help on the king bed tho.

Take care,

B

Hi Evolver. We have the 24RBSWE with king bed. You can use regular king sheets, but.. Most of them are made to accommodate thick mattresses, and the mattress that comes with the RBS is only about 7in thick, and it collapses a lot under normal body weight. Other than that, the regular sheets will work fine. After sleeping on ours for about 2 weeks we replaced it with 2 twin ikea foam mattresses with an additional foam topper. Wouldn't you know it, that turned out to be 6in too wide. Turns out the covers are zippered. We folded back 1 of the twins and used an electric carving knife and trimmed off 6in. Then took 3in off each topper to stagger the middle line of the bed. We love the med-firm feel and the sheets stay tighter than on the factory mattress.

Consider getting one of those sheet tighteners. Our queen mattress is standard size but thin, our sheets are made for a home mattress with pillow top, so they are very loose and sloppy. It's usually just the two of us, but if we have a grandkid or two they sleep on the converted dinette with sleeping bags.
