Low riding jacks

Hi, we have a 2016 Montana High Country model # HM 375 FL and we have only used it a few times and this is our second fithwheel. We are concerned about how low the jacks ride to the pavement. When we left our last RV park while pulling out of the driveway the back jacks were touching the driveway itself. Is this cause for concern or does anyone else have this problem or suggestions, thanks in advance? Bob and Margaret

If you have the 4 pt Lippert leveling system, which I'm pretty sure you do, the rear jacks DO ride low. There is no cure that I know of.

If you have the electric autolevel (Ground control 3.0) removing the jack pads will gain you some clearance. Check the mounting of the jack, you may be able to move them up one hole for more clearance.
Hydraulic auto level (Level up) doesn't have the option of removing the pads, but you may be able to move them up one hole on the mount.

Was concerned about moving them up a hole or two but will that throw off the automatic leveling system?

No. Moving them up won't change the autolevel, but there is only so much travel in the rams. Move them 1 hole and then check. is your system hydraulic?

I have the 6 point level up hydraulic system. I also was concerned about how low the jacks ride. I moved all six of them up one hole; gaining about 2"; the middle and rear ones could move up further but the front ones are at the top of the mounting bracket now. It will have no effect on your auto system. The only draw back to moving the jacks up will be less travel. There might be an occasion where you would have to put a block or pad under the jack to get enough lift.

The job is real easy if you have an air impact wrench; my wife and I did all six in about an hour. Hook up to your truck, place a floor jack under the jack pad, remove the bolts, pick the jack up a couple inches with the floor jack and reinstall the bolts; repeat five more times.

Hydraulic system has more travel than electric. As stated above, you could raise them up and then use blocks. Hydraulic systems use a pressure switch to shut off the jack once level is achieved.

I suspect yours is like mine. The jacks and big slides are hydraulic. I was a little surprised to find the bedroom slide was electric. At least I think it is electric; it sounds electric, but I have not pulled up the bottom under the bed to look at it. It works ok so it really doesn't matter.

Did you have any issues with the hydraulic lines. I could move the rears up more than one but the fronts only one.

Same, I could only move the fronts one hole. No problems at all with hydraulic lines. I could have moved the middle and rear more but decided to just try one hole. I'm not concerned about the rear; they are so close to the wheels I can't imagine them ever hitting unless I drop off a huge curb!

Do you know what the torque specs are for the bolts/nuts?

Bolt the leveling jacks to the mounting brackets to achieve proper ground clearance. Make sure the bolts are tightened to 52-64 ft-lbs (Fig.3).

If you truck is not level hitched up, then the front jacks have less running clearance. I had Air Lift air bag system installed which will level up the truck under load thereby preventing rear sage and improving front Jack clearance.

Low jacks. Oops

Good reason for concern. Was going to raise mine and should have. Backed into a stump which was 2" above grade on the uphill of my driveway. $400 for jack plus welding fees. Here are some pics of my 326srx

Most unfortunate! I will keep a close eye on mine. I am most worried about gas station driveways.
