mor-ryde

Has anyone had problems with the new mor-ryde suspension on their Cougar? What I wonder is it an improvement over the old system?

What's new? Newer than a CRE/3000 equalizer?

I believe that Cougar started using this setup in 2012.

The Montana line has used Mor Ryde suspension systems for quite a number of years. On previous model years Keystone used the LRE 4000 system. In 2017 Montana has the CRE 3000 system. I don't know for sure which model year Montana converted from the LRE 4000 to the CRE 3000.

As I understand it from the Mor Ryde website, both systems do essentially the same thing, the LRE 4000 is rated at 7000 pounds per axle and has a 4" travel while the CRE 3000 (that is also used on the Cougar line) is rated at 8000 pounds per axle and has a 3" travel. Both systems have bronze bushings in the actual equalizer. In the 2017 Montana line, the entire suspension system has bronze bushings and wet bolts. I don't know if previous years had that feature or not.

Note: The 2014 Montana brochure lists (in the tires and chassis section): "Mor Ryde CRE3000 or LRE4100 (Legacy Edition) suspension system. So I'd suspect that the change to the CRE 3000 components occurred during that model year, but who knows what's on any specific trailer without actually looking under it, between the axles......

I don't know how new it is, but my SRX came with the CRE/3000 equalizer, with bronze bushings. I added a wetbolt kit with bronze bushings before my first big trip. The plastic bushings were already beginning to deteriorate. No issues at all with the equalizer after two years and 6-7,000 miles.

Hi We just picked up our used 2013 Cougar 24rks. It has the mor-ryde suspension. I thought Keystone started to use this on this model in 2012. But I was wrong. On another note on the drive home (5hrs from dealership) we noticed delamination of the front cap. Will be contacting dealer to get this resolved.
