Within several of the posts on satellite TV and TV installation in general, no one (including me) has mentioned that they found where the Alpine (in this case, 3640RL) antenna amplifier was. Back when we accepted this fiver and did the walk-through, I asked the tech where the antenna amplifier switch was. He didn't know and basically said it was automatic - it would switch off when connected to cable. Hmm, must be something with the newer models. NOT!
Yesterday, while searching for cable connections, I found where Keystone nicely hid the antenna amplifier! It is squirreled away up within the cabinet mounting for the bedroom TV, about center of the TV, hidden behind the cabinet moulding above the TV! Yup, right there it was - On/Off switch and 12V power socket and all! Automatic! Ha!
Push button - Amp Off. Push button - Amp On.
What I also noticed was for all the other areas of "finishing" around the Alpine, the top of the cabinet enclosure for the bedroom TV is virtually unfinished! You can put your fingers (and almost a hand) behind and on top of the overhead cabinet!
