Similar experience

I had a fridge in a slide out that had an automatic fan that would come on when the temp at the back of the fridge got high. The sensor would go out very often, so since I was camping full time I went to WallyWorld and got a $10 squirrel cage fan and let it vent the back of the fridge all of the time. Reduced my interior fridge temp from 45 down to about 38. Did that for about 3 years.
