What year/model? Did they ever work?

Mine did the same thing on PDI. After watching them try to "fix" it I told them to leave it alone and I would take it home to repair. Get inside with a flashlight and have someone close the door. There will be 2 latch mechanisms that snap over a metal reinforcement plate. Look to see what is going on. Are the spring loaded latches too high? The plate too far back? Once you determine that you then will need to figure a way to adjust that reinforcement plate. I did not see a good way to adjust the latch mechanisms on the door without the potential of causing other issues going forward.

Slam latch opens with pulling- won’t lock

I have the same issue. Just took possession of a 2020 Cougar 29BHS. In the pass through, one latch closes but, when locked, you can still pull the latch handle up and open it. The tongue of the latch does go down over the stike plate and looks ok. I am tempted to remove the latch and look inside and/or try to buy a new one. If buying a new one, anyone know what kind Keystone uses or where to get one? Dealer can’t service in time- we plan to use the trailer all summer and half of the winter.

If the latch isn’t grabbing, try this:

Remove the screws on the bottom portion of the frame. We use batten trim, shim the frame about 1/4” and put the screws back in.

Read my post #2. The fix Chuck suggested is one that can work. On mine the bottom metal lip had been bent up making the latch not work. I had to shim the strike plate from the bottom even after straightening the metalwork. I doubt pulling/replacing the latch mechanism will get you anywhere. I suspect it is the thin metal lip the strike plate is mounted to/against.

Chuckster has the fix. Just did it to one latch on ours. Took all of 10 minutes, 5 of which was drilling a couple holes in a piece of steel stock. You can also use 2-3 flat washers
