Quick Question

Prospective Bullet Premier buyer here.

What brand of tires are the Premier’s being sold with? I’m trying to budget my various costs… safe Tires, quality mattress, etc. Not our 1st RV rodeo! Doug

Most of the Bullet line will likely have Trailer King tires. So many negative reports that might be the first thing to replace. Budget for the mattress and an Electrical Management System for sure.

There is a PDI worksheet floating around the site which gives you specifics on what to check for in a new camper; get things fixed before signing or at least driving off the lot. Quality has been iffy during the china flu season and RV dealers seem to always be backed up for parts (supply chain?) and doing repairs and not all dealerships are as prone to provide after sales service.

Are you looking at one of those RVs or ?? They will probably have TK tires. My choice would be to replace them before it left the lot if they were on there but that's me. RV OE mattress? Yes, it has to go IMO. If you don't have an EMS get one - don't leave home without it. Where do you camp? 2 A/Cs are mandatory IMO in the south. Once I decide on "the" trailer the above are fixed before I take it along with MaxxAir vent covers. TPMS system. Now you've got a start.

Sorry about this being older info, but my 2019 had Rainier tires which I opted to use for only one year and replaced them with Carlisle Radial Trail D tires.

PS, make them show you the water heater bypass (mine had it) and the antifreeze input valve (mine did NOT have it).

We can guess or assume what tires are on it, but whatever tire, plan to change them. Keystone puts upgraded tires on their high end flagship brands like the Montana and Fuzion, not on their budget brands, Springdale, Hideout, Bullet, Passport, Outback.

All RV manufacturers install cheap/basic mattresses. Everyone has a different idea of what is comfortable. Plan to upgrade it to what feels good for you.

Yes, an EMS is a must. I also never leave the lot without maxxairs.

If the RV is 50 amp and can have 2 ACs, get them. Better to have and not need, than to need and not have. You never know where your travels may take you. I live in the southwest so need mine often, but nothing prepared me for the overnight stay in Yuma on our way to Oceanside a few years back.

"Keystone puts upgraded tires on their high end flagship brands like the Montana and Fuzion, not ..."

Ha! I have a Keystone Montana, and had a blow out within 6 months after purchasing the camper! Ended up replacing them all with Hercules Tires (14 ply trailer tires, purchased and installed at a semi-truck repair shop).

However, my previous 3 travel trailers ran on factory installed tires for several years before I replaced them. I guess quality (like morality) has gone to hell everywhere over the last 20 years.

Whatever you get, the first thing you absolutely need to change, regardless of what the dealership or manufacturer puts on your trailer, get the tires swapped out immediately and monitor them every trip.

Well I can tell you for fact that back around 2017/2018 they started putting Sailuns (i think they’ve changed to Endurance now)on the Montana and Fuzion. Which so many people brag about and recommend as the best upgrade (i disagree, but many people have had great results with them). The MHC didn’t get the Sailuns, it’s a High Country not a Montana. Same as the Impact, it’s not a Fuzion.
