Still waiting.....

Almost a month now, no FREE COVID test that I signed up for the very first day it was offered.

Maybe as a man ( I checked my gender and feel pretty certain I am who I think I am.....) I should have opted for a free pregnancy test, instead?

I had heard delivery was 6 weeks out, and you did meet the requirements right?

Not sure what that is....
I can't recall exactly what it looked like, I filled it out, sent it, and never even got anything else back.
I do recall something about receiving something to the email address this application was sent. Odd, now that I think about it, I never got another email/notice from them other than that first one.... which if memory serves me right, was right after Biden said he was getting them out, pronto.

What makes you think you have covid and need a test? If you feel fine, you probably are. If you are sick, you'll know it.

Sick or not sick, regardless, you should be taking "nominal" precautions to protect yourself and those you come into contact with.

If you are sick, stay home.

I feel the same way!
Why would I possibly need a box full of Covid test if I feel fine?
If there's anything Covid related I'd recommend it would be stopping any/all unnecessary Covid payouts, stop the news media from spewing all the BS, shut up all the politicians using it as campaign propaganda & let's move on.
Don't know about anyone else, but I'm sick/tired of hearing about!

Well isn't that part of the problem surrounding this whole event...uncertainty and misinformation, and politicizing?

I believe I contracted the omicron early last month.
My symptoms were exactly as reported.
Still have a pestering cough at times, but my lungs and respiratory are in great shape, I never smoked.

I still teach/train plumbing apprentice a few times a month, and I believe this is where I acquired it, as one of the kids said he got sick later too.

Then my wife got it from me, however she "recovered" quicker.

So, with all the BS surrounding the COVID, I wanted to take a test if it was to be that convenient and free.

However, it still seems this COVID event is not being reported, adhered to, treated equally still to this date, as you have pictures of maskless mandate advocates at sporting events, night clubs, etc, going maskless....

I thought, why not, basically.

Danny, what concerns me, and why I wanted to test, was to get my own test results, hopefully, to a piece of this puzzle.
I hope we can sort this all out at a later date, not so much for punitive considerations, as that boat has already sailed....
But to avoid this type of thing happening in the future, we need to get better at it.

Look, why would any lab create such a threat to civilization by making this virus?
We need to have a much better response, plan, to how we combat it and protect ourselves in this crazy world.

If you are REALLY that concerned then, go to your local pharmacist and pick up a Covid test. Why wait?

I had a head cold a couple months ago. It was one of the weirdest head colds I'd ever had. I decided to get a Covid Test from CVS pharmacy. I took it. No covid. Just a weird head cold. At least I knew and I had peace of mind.

Living where I live on an island we just don't have as many options, but yes, I could, you are right.
The whole thing started when I got the email, that was easy and convenient, and right up my alley.
I am not concerned so much health wise about myself, my days were number the moment that doctor slapped me, and I took a breath, I am cool with that.

Ya know what I hope we can all learn from this is to be proactive in our lives, FIRST.
Take control of what we can, eat right, live right, exercise, etc....
Stop the mindset that a pill or meds with fix what we won't do ourselves because we are lazy.
The deaths to COVID were greatly elevated because of underlining conditions in vast majority of those who succumbed.

Just a thought from the blue; why would anyone want a covid test? If you're sick you're sick. If you're not you're not. Before the politicians and media made the population paranoid and hypochondriacs about covid you just got sick, got over it or went to the doc or hospital if it was bad enough. Now we have tents set up along the roadways to give free covid tests to the masses.....to accomplish what? Why?

Once you have the flu (or covid, or any virus) getting tested to see if you have it only serves to help the caregivers determine a course of care - maybe. The symptoms themselves will actually drive that. Prior to this self induced hysteria if you thought you were sick you had to bring me a doctor's statement saying you were too incapacitated to work. Now all that is needed is a positive covid test and you can leave the workforce "because" even if you feel fine. And no, spreading it isn't a reason to just stop working and throw the whole works into a spiral - people get sick and always have. If you want to avoid or minimize it - get the vaccines. Covid is simply another virus we have to deal with. We've had Asian, SARS etc. and now what, 4 iterations of "covid"? The variations will keep on coming as long as the population allows the politicians and media drive them into hysteria - and submission. I know others are worried sick about the possibility of contracting it and that is their choice. As I've said before; you are far more likely to die from a car accident - if we follow this same decision process as covid do we trash the cars and get a horse? I think not - we'll deal with it. JMO on this dreary day.

About those drive thru testing sites, swabbing.

We had to go get one over on the mainland for my wife prior to a medical procedure.
With ungloved hands they handed me, the driver the test vial, swab, I gave it to my wife, she swabbed her nose, maybe her lip, or who knows what, then handed it back to me, I gave it to the girl in the trailer window, off we went, after they gave us a piece of paper that said you must isolate until you go to the medical facilities to have your operation, etc.

You have no results at this point in time.

Tell me, how is this testing really secure?

This is why I hope we can weed through all the misinformation and mandates, etc, and get to the real data on this matter.

I have witnessed folks that have been friends their whole life, no longer are, because of differing beliefs over COVID.

It's crazy.
