Not IMO. I live in a place I "thought" I'd be in about 18mos. as it was implied. Not so. I dislike the place greatly (although in the scheme of things it's a stellar place) but DW has grown to love it. I've offered to build her a house in any number of places "I" like....ain't happenin. So I've learned to love the brown dirt since I love DW.

It's not "your town" then is it? A lot of prople visit an area and think " I lovve this place and I wish I lived here." Then they move and the shine wears off when they find out that no matter how long they live there they aren't accepted by the natives. Or the visit in one season and don't realize the radical weather changes in the other seasons.

It's a matter of personal prefrence, pride, prejudices, tolerance, and acceptance IMO. Some folks are more passionate about their likes than others, hence the often empassioned and sometimes ridiculous arguments over brands of trucks, beer, and everything else.
JMO, YMMV

What is the last status of the propane recall? Will we get replacements before the camping season starts?

Well finally getting around to this since the weather is getting a little warmer. Not really wanting to take it in to the dealer, so started looking for a MEGR-253 and they are nowhere to be found. I was able to find a MEGR-253H and its on the way. It was actually cheaper than the out of stock 253's.

I'm guessing there are tons here that are smarter on the propane regulator front, but as far as I can tell is that the 253H is rated for a higher BTU (flow) but same pressure. There are also other threads in the Interwebs telling people with the H model to run out to buy the red pigtails, which I don't think I'll need since I'm not really increasing my BTU requirements, just installing a higher rated regulator.

Can anyone confirm my thinking that this will work out? (or let me know I'm a moron). My simple brained approach puts this in the same category as electric cabling or water lines. As long as I'm not trying to pull or consume more propane than the regulator puts out or the pigtails will allow through the QCC, it really doesn't matter how much flow it's rated for.

The 253H (which is hard to find as well) will work and it's better than the Fairviews etc. BTDT

Thanks Sourdough! I dug for quite a bit and couldn't find 1 253, but found a few places with the 253H at around $85 without pigtails.

Yes, for some reason the Marshall Excelsior regulators have become very hard to get. I contacted them and the person I talked to didn't give me a specific answer to the shortage, only that yes, they were out of stock and in short supply; they did come in in small quantities and it was more or less luck if you got one. Another casualty of our ongoing dilemmas I guess. It will work fine, pressures are the same just allows more gas flow if needed.

Good info here, just replaced my failed regulator from one from Amazon. Didn't bother trying to find out about the recall. Mine just randomly wouldn't work. Furnace still doesn't work, I will have to figure that out at some point.

Found a JR 31525 on eTrailer yesterday (Thursday). Was to ship this week, now 4/23. I can wait a bit. Found same on Monday on Amazon, placed order, received delivery date of 4/12. Tuesday received email that order was canceled.

I thought I might have to replace the Model 6020 regulator myself and I thought I could perhaps order (on-line) a 2-stage regulator and save money by using the existing pigtails. So I took one off and a screen, a ball bearing, a spring, an o-ring, and a sleeve fell out of the pigtail. I suppose these things were part of the backflow check valve. The other side pigtail was different(!) as it had three ball bearings and three o-rings around the inside of the inside perimeter of the regulator where the pigtail attaches. So odd. I decided to reassemble the pig tails to the Model 6020. I ended up getting a Flame King with pigtails.

I gave Camping World a call to see if they would accept the Model 6020 in the mail and ship me a replacement due to the recall. I live 1.5 hours one way from CW. The guy in the service department said that he would transfer my call to the service manager and I could give him my "wish list." I said, "well, that doesn't seem too promising." In short, I left a detailed message and never received a call back. I will never buy another camper from CW. 'Nuff said.

I bought new pigtails from Amazon just in case the replacement used a different connection. We haven't had any issues with our existing regulator, so I can wait. New estimated delivery is last week of April from eTrailer. They have been very good about emailing status of the order.

Just be aware that the check valve was seen at the pigtail nipple, so it you replaced the pigtail without an integrated checkvalve, you might not want to use “automatic changeover” for a Model 6020 regulator. Instead, I would only turn on one valve at a time while the other is off. Otherwise I *think* you could lose LP gas from one tank to the other. I hope that makes sense….

PS, I gather that Falcon67 is saving the ordered pigtails just in case he needs them.

I had to replace my regulator due to failure prior to receiving the recall notice. We were out on a trip at the time. Replacement took about 30 minutes.

As there still seems to be issues finding replacements, and/or getting an appointment to replace, here is a link to the one I bought, which appears to be readily available:

Flame King 2-stage Auto Changeover Regulator

I know there are some 'go to' regulator brands, but I have had no problems with this item so far.

As an FYI, after getting the recall notice I provided the receipt for the regulator and a pic of it installed to Keystone. They approved and sent my reimbursement in a few weeks.

That is the one I ordered and installed. It works great with the furnace while all stove burners are full-on. I did turn on the water heater but only very temporarily because there is no water in it. The stove flames did not “shrink” with the water heater turning on. The 190,000 BTU regulator seems to work well with by Bullet.

Yes, the regulator I ordered is a JR Products 37207-31525, not a 6020. I ordered both the regulator and pigtails from Amazon. Amazon shipped the pigtails, then said they could not fill the regulator order (3rd party supplier fault, not Amazon). Placed a separate order with eTrailer for the same regulator. So all the pieces should match. If not - well, that's plumbing.
