I think you are then encroaching on asking for "personal information", that usually isn't needed when answering someones question.
The forum software asks the "City" you are located in, but there is no requirement that you put anything real in that field.
It asks the State too, but that isn't displayed unless you click on someones profile.
Look, even Janet just uses PNW that I assume means Pacific Northwest.
If you don't feel you can help answer someones question without knowing where they are located, then no need to reply to their request.

A very perceptive answer. When someone asks how to winterize, there may be differences in the technique depending on that persons climate. When someone asks for tips on which campground to use, that state info helps. If someone feels uncomfortable about mentioning which state they reside, great, The witness protection program is there for those folks. How can divulging your town and state provide information that will come back on you? I now where to find you as I am guess Rolla Mo.? I might sneak into your town and do something untowards. Geesh, don't live in fear folks. I live about 4 miles outside Mico Texas if anyone is looking for me.

Like I said, if you don't think you can help just skip on to the next post.

George, I agree with you on giving at least a rough location. I would suggest changing from giving a city/ town to needing a state/ province as a location. That way, instant identification for most places on what level of winterization is required, to where a person is looking for a campground. I’m one who doesn’t necessarily want to give out what town I live by. Knowing I’m in the frigid stupid state of MN is enough for others to get a close approximation of where I am located.

I’m with George on location. Winterization in Amarillo TX (pink stuff) is different than in Harlingen TX (tequila+lime).

No more confusion! You won't see "Danny" on my post anymore & added a 2 letter abbreviation after my location.
This is not Cheers bar where everybody knows your name!
You people are just too demanding for my personal information. LOL!
